Luke Timothy Johnson is the Robert W. Woodruff Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins in the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. His research interests include Greco-Roman contexts of early Christianity (particularly moral discourse), Luke-Acts, the Pastoral Letters, and the Letters of James. Professor Johnson is the author of 19 books, including The Writings of the New Testament: An Interpretation; A Commentary on the Gospel of Luke; Reading Romans: A Literary and Theological Commentary; and Living Jesus: Learning the Heart of the Gospels. In addition, he has written numerous articles and book reviews.

Johnson wrote Reading Romans as well as The Acts of the Apostles, commentaries that were used in the Bible study.
